Medusa / Personal instrument
Somewhere to think.
Medusa is a private journal with a mind behind it. You write; it answers from what it has settled, and it shows you how it got there. No feed, no bubbles, no one performing certainty at you.
01 / What it is
One journal, one instrument.
Medusa is the personal instrument: a working journal with a provenance rail, not a generic chat app. It is quiet by default. When an answer arrives it is accompanied by the small evidence of its making — the seal, the verdict, the hops — and if you want the whole trace, you open it.
One continuous exposure stream reaches your instance. Journal, Conversation, and Audit are three ways of reading the same turns, not three different memories.
02 / Journals
The journal is yours, not Medusa's.
A journal is your private record of the work: the turns you wrote, the answers you received, the pages you kept them in. It exists so you can read, resume, and revisit. It is a document for you.
And a journal can have pages. Each page holds the turns of one piece of work, and you can arrange them however you like: reorder pages, group them under dividers, rename them, move a page from one place to another. The arrangement is yours. The material is not partitioned by it — pages organise reading, not memory.
It is not Medusa's memory. Medusa does not keep a transcript and does not read the journal back as context. The engine holds state, not a conversation history; the journal is a display projection over the same turns, stored for you and never fed back to the agent as memory.
That separation is the point. Your record stays a record, and the instrument stays an instrument: it answers from what it has settled, not from a running narrative of you. You get to be more than your last paragraph.
03 / How it works
Write, and it walks.
- 01You write a turn. It arrives at your instance as material.
- 02The engine settles it, resolves what it can, and answers — or refuses, out loud.
- 03Every answer carries its route: the seal, the verdict, the hops.
Your transcript is a display projection. The engine's journal is the authoritative exposure stream; the BFF holds your session and your instance token.
04 / Access
By invitation or subscription.
Medusa opens in stages. Access is provisioned: a paid subscription or an invite code. There is no self-serve key issuance. Come in when the door is open.
Position
A tool that tells the truth and can be checked is a tool you keep on the desk, not one you keep in a vault. Medusa is that desk. Bring the work; leave the performance at the door.
